A biotechnology pioneer with a mission to serve patients, Amgen researches, develops, and produces innovative medicines to help those battling cancer and other serious illnesses.
Amgen is passionate about helping people survive cancer, and we are applying our expertise in biotechnology to fight this devastating disease on multiple fronts. Amgen supportive care products help doctors and patients cope with potentially serious side effects of chemotherapy. And Amgen scientists are discovering and creating the next generation of innovative cancer therapeutics – targeted agents that hone in on tumor cells and other cells in the body that play a part in tumor growth and survival.
All of us at Amgen have been somehow touched by cancer, and we understand that while access to the best possible medical treatment is vital, beating cancer calls for more than that. People facing cancer need support from their community and access to reliable information. Amgen and the Amgen Foundation back a broad range of patient assistance programs and community initiatives to increase patient access to quality healthcare and advance science education to develop the scientists of tomorrow.
Amgen and the Amgen Foundation also champion important patient programs including the Breakaway from CancerTM initiative which raises awareness for free services and programs for people affected by cancer and the Harold P. Freeman Patient Navigation Institute which advances a shared vision for providing the right care at the right time for cancer patients across the nation.
Amgen is proud to partner with Stand Up To CancerTM as part of our ongoing commitment to advances in cancer treatment. We believe this partnership will not only provide additional needed funds for cancer research but also will prove what we have long believed – that joining forces is essential to fighting and overcoming this disease.
