Variety Celebrates Hollywood's Most Philanthropic and Inspiring Women at the 9th Installment of Variety's Power of Women Event Presented by Lifetime

Honorees at the October 9th Event Include Salma Hayek Pinault, Anna Kendrick, Gwyneth Paltrow, Oprah Winfrey, and Susan Wojcicki

Variety is pleased to announce the honorees for the ninth installment of Variety’s Power of Women luncheon at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons on October 9, 2015. The event, in partnership with Lifetime Television, gathers an intimate group of Hollywood’s most philanthropic women who have been selected as Variety’s “Lifetime Impact Honorees.” Through their humanitarian efforts, these women have made a significant difference in their chosen causes. Variety’s Power of Women event is tied to its annual Women’s Impact Report, which profiles the most impactful women working in the entertainment industry this year. Each of the honorees will be featured on the front cover of the Women’s Impact issue of Variety on October 6th.

This year’s honorees include Academy Award® and Golden Globe® nominated actress Salma Hayek Pinault (CHIME FOR CHANGE), Tony Award® and Academy Award® nominated actress Anna Kendrick (The Trevor Project), Academy Award® and Golden Globe® winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow (L.A. Kitchen), Academy Award® and Golden Globe® nominated actress and media mogul Oprah Winfrey (Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation), and YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki (Room to Read).

The Power of Women event, which expanded two years ago to include a New York City luncheon in the spring, is now in its seventh year. Variety is, once again, pleased to have the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) as its charity partner for this event. EIF will match the Variety Foundation’s donations to each of this year’s honorees’ charities.

This year, Variety will be adding a new honor to the program. The EmPOWerment Award will be given to Chairman and CEO of Twentieth Century Fox Film, Jim Gianopulos. “This award is being given to an individual who empowers and creates opportunities for women to succeed in the entertainment business,” said Claudia Eller, Co-Editor-In-Chief, Variety. “With so many of the division heads at Fox being strong, influential women, we could think of no one better to give the award to than Jim Gianopulos. Between Stacey Snider, Emma Watts, Elizabeth Gabler, Vanessa Morrison, Nancy Utley, and Claudia Lewis, among others, Fox empowers more women in top management positions than any other movie studio and for that we are honored to recognize Jim and his team at Fox for this significant achievement.”

The exclusive luncheon will host five hundred invite-only guests comprised of Hollywood insiders, who will come to celebrate, support and pay tribute to the philanthropic efforts of these incredible and inspirational women. The afternoon will also include VIP pre- and post-ceremony cocktail receptions with an interactive “Philanthropy Bazaar” designed to engage guests with the featured charities and participating brand sponsors.

Variety’s 2015 Power of Women event is presented by Lifetime Television and sponsored by Audi, Frederique Constant, Moroccanoil and Saint Vintage. Audi will be showcasing the all-new 2016 TT Roadster to guests of the event and is providing transportation for honorees and presenters. Frederqiue Constant will be donating watches to each of the honoree’s charities to be auctioned off. Moroccanoil will be presenting their Inspiration to Action Award to Halo Foundation creator Rebecca Welsh and gifting Moroccanoil products to all guests.100 percent of all Saint Vintage sales during Power of Women’s Philanthropy Bazaar will be donated to cancer research. Saint Vintage will be selling its line in addition to gifting the honorees in the Saint Vintage Lounge backstage.
