EIF’s National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance (NCCRA) is dedicated to the eradication of colorectal cancer by promoting the importance of early medical screening and funding research to develop better tests, treatments, and ultimately a cure.  The initiative was co-founded in March of 2000 by Katie Couric, Lilly Tartikoff, and EIF. Improving Patient Care

EIF’s NCCRA provided lead funding for The Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.  The center is named in memory of Couric’s late husband, who died of colon cancer in 1998 at age 42. Opened in March 2004, the Monahan Center is a world-class gastrointestinal cancer and wellness center, serving as a unique model of coordinated and compassionate, multidisciplinary care for patients and their families. The Monahan Center is dedicated to prevention, treatment, research and education in the area of gastrointestinal cancer. For more information, visit www.monahancenter.org.
