Lee National Denim Day

Lee National Denim Day

The Women’s Cancer Program is the beneficiary of Lee National Denim Day.  The campaign is based on a simple, yet very powerful idea: on the first Friday of October, wear jeans and make a $5 dollar donation to support breast cancer research.  Now in its 15th year, millions of people have put their jeans and donated to the cause.

Proceeds from Lee National Denim Day have been used by EIF to establish the Lee Laboratories for Translational Research to accelerate promising treatment research for new targeted therapies, and increase patient access to some of the most significant clinical trials in the nation.  Money raised also supports EIF’s Breast Biomarker Discovery Project to support early detection research and the Cancer Support Community for evidenced-based education.

Celebrity ambassadors, including Christina Applegate, Mariska Hargitay, Tim Daly, Chandra Wilson, Billy Ray Cyrus, and cast members of NBC’s The Office – Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer and B.J. Novak – have volunteered their time and appeared in public service messages to encourage people to participate.
