K Period Media Foundation (KPMF) was founded in 2022 by philanthropist, entrepreneur, and Academy Award-nominated producer, Kimberly Steward, as the non profit arm of her production company, K Period Media (KPM). K Period Media Foundation is a fiscally-sponsored fund housed at the Entertainment Industry Foundation that is focused on harnessing the power of art and storytelling to build a more inclusive world. KPMF invests in and develops impact programs that lift up underrepresented voices and provide new opportunities for diverse talent in the entertainment and media industry.
KPMF pursues its mission through three approaches:
IMPACT PROGRAM
K Period Media Foundation Screamwriting Fellowship: The Screamwriting Fellowship, deeply rooted in mentor-mentee relationships, provides support to underrepresented, emerging film and television writers aspiring to work in the horror genre. Fellows receive a 360 experience through a multi-day intensive focused on developing their projects, ongoing seminars and workshops to hone their skills, targeted mentorship from industry leaders (including agents, managers, executives, and producers), and ongoing career development and educational support.
KPM Foundation’s Screamwriting Fellowship was launched in 2023 in collaboration with Blumhouse Productions and under the advisement of the Sundance Institute.
