Jalen Hurts launches his foundation to serve and mentor youth, building upon efforts to help Philly schools

The Billy Porter Fund seeks to to create a pipeline of opportunity for primarily BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth to gain the experience and expertise to access below-the-line jobs in the entertainment industry.

Congratulations to Billy Porter on receiving the Isabelle Stevenson Award at the 2024 Tony Awards!

Grammy, Emmy, and 3-time Tony Award-winning artist and activist Billy Porter has partnered with the Entertainment Industry Foundation on his new endeavor to create a pipeline of opportunity for primarily BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth to gain the experience and expertise to access below-the-line jobs in the entertainment industry. Inspired by an experience directing his first film, Billy witnessed firsthand the systemic barriers in place that keep young people who share his identities from knowing about and obtaining long-term careers in TV/film, music, and theater beyond the more public facing roles like acting, singing, dancing, directing, and producing.

We look forward to sharing more soon about EIF’s exciting new philanthropic partner!
